Step 1: Creating the public_html directory

The first thing you need to do in creating a webpage on the DOE server is to create a public_html directory in which ALL of your webpage html files, gifs, jpegs should be placed.

1) Log onto makani, via telnet
2) At menu, choose <9> shell escape
3) At Shell, type mkdir public_html

OR

1) Log onto makani, via fetch or ftp
2) Create a new directory called public_html
