Before you request help...
Here are a few tips to follow when asking (phone or email) for technical
support from anyone. The better you phrase your request, the faster
it can be processed.
- State what computer you're using. Some times it's easy to overlook
this and assume the person on the other end knows what computer
you're using.
- List the software you're using and version numbers (if possible).
- Mention all the symptoms of the problem, not just what you think
is wrong. If you're asking about how to do something state what
you want your final outcome to be and not just what the immediate
problem is.
- Be able to duplicate the problem.
- Mention everything you've done to remedy the situation. It always
helps to know that you've put some effort in solving the problem.
